Attending Shoden (Reiki 1) at The Happy Mind Studio
Welcome to Shoden — the first step on your Reiki journey. This beginner-level course is designed to introduce you to the energetic healing practice of Reiki in a warm, safe and professionally held environment. Over the day you will learn foundational theory, practical techniques and receive your first Reiki attunement, enabling you to offer Reiki to yourself, friends and family with confidence and compassion.

Clear, structured teaching covering Reiki history, ethics, energy basics and the Japanese lineage.
Practical demonstrations and guided practice sessions so you gain hands-on experience with Reiki hand positions and self-treatment.
A formal attunement ceremony (the Reiki initiation) to open and strengthen your personal energy channels.
Reflection time, group discussion and Q&A to integrate what you learn and address any questions.
Course materials, a Shoden manual and guidance on how to continue practising after the day.

After the course
You will be certified as a Reiki Shoden (Level 1) practitioner and able to give treatments to yourself and others in a non-professional, supportive setting.
You’ll receive guidance on building a regular personal practice and suggestions for next steps, including Reiki 2 (Okuden) and further study.
Ongoing support is available through follow-up sessions, group practice evenings and private mentoring.
